Time Out For God

Supper With the Lord

once a month on a Sunday evening

TO4G does what is says on the tin: It gives people time to spend with God.

We would like to invite you to join us on Sunday evenings for Supper with the Lord. All are welcome, but come prepared to ‘Go Deeper’ in worship and prayer and the Word, and in fellowship with the Lord and with one another.

In the early church, the disciples broke bread together in the form of a communal meal in their homes. Jesus ate many meals with His disciples and with others. He fed the multitudes, much of His teaching centered around meals and feasts, and of course, He ate His last supper with the disciples, where He gave them the instruction to remember His death whenever they ate bread and drank wine together. It was only later as the church became more established that communion, as we know it, became a tradition in the church—a valuable, meaningful and precious tradition that we treasure, and should keep.

In Time Out For God however we wanted to restore that sense of family celebrating Jesus’ life, death, burial and resurrection together at a beautiful communal meal, with worship, prayer, biblical teaching, and discussion about the Scriptures, and also, as Rick Warren said in Cutting Edge magazine, ”the openness to what the Spirit wants to do,” today, in PVC, in Potton.

Sharing the Lord’s Supper and having the opportunity to minister to each other's needs without any distractions or other agenda is a luxury we need to maintain and protect.

We are a busy people, but taking Time Out For God will always be a blessing both to God and to us. As we draw near to God, He comes close and we are more aware of His Holy Spirit.

The question is not, Can I afford the time? but Can I afford not to spend Time with God?

We encourage all at Potton Vineyard Church to spend ‘Time Out with God’ every day, but in reality it can be very difficult, so taking advantage of this once-a-month service goes some way towards making this practice a life long habit.

We are convinced that if we all made TO4G a daily practice it would transform our church and our lives.
