Vineyard Coffee Stop

Vineyard Coffee Stop has become a popular place to meet in the centre of Potton.

The twice-a-month Coffee Stop was birthed out of a vision for seeing the Church on the streets and for wanting to share God’s love in practical ways, through generosity.

The Coffee Stop set up in Potton Market Square in May 2006. A dedicated team from a number of house groups have faithfully served free coffee and donuts to the flurry of visitors on a Saturday morning. It’s not only those that sit at the café tables that are served, but the bus drivers stopping in the square and the surrounding traders, have all had a free cuppa and donut!

In addition to Potton residents, the Coffee Stop has served groups of walkers passing through the town, people visiting family in the surrounding area and day-trippers coming from Letchworth, Luton and the neighbouring villages. Each conversation has given us the opportunity to challenge people’s perception of church and to simply share the Good News.

The Coffee Stop has enjoyed widespread support and acceptance by the Potton traders and town council. The council invited us to support Potton Library’s 50th Birthday celebrations in July.

In the winter months, the Coffee Stop’s summer season spot on the square comes to a close. But due to its popularity and requests from its faithful clientele, the Coffee Stop continues to serve the community from a warm indoor venue in the Community Centre.
