The Grove – pregnancy counselling centre
www.thegrovepcc.org.uk
The Grove is situated in Bedford; it provides a vital service, as a church Potton Vineyard supports the Grove in three key ways:
- Prayer support
- Volunteers, to enable the work of the centre
- Financial support
The Grove offers free pregnancy testing and confidential counselling to those who think they are pregnant or who are sure that they are. There is also post-abortion counselling available.
A recent development is that the Grove has been asked to provide a service offering on-site pre termination counselling for patients at Bedford Hospital. It is a tremendous opportunity to show God’s love in a very difficult time.
The Grove has seen many answers to prayer recently and there schools work in the area of sexual relationship is taking on an increasingly important role.
Please pray for the work of The Grove.
The main areas for prayer are:
- Having enough counsellors to do the work at the hospital and the normal opening hours of The Grove
- That God would bless those going into Bedford Hospital with wisdom and grace for their difficult and demanding task
- That all the volunteers and their family are kept healthy and protected by God’s mercy
The following scriptures may be useful to focus your prayers:
Ephes. 6:10-18 A final word: Be strong with the Lord's mighty power. [11] Put on all of God's armour so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies and tricks of the Devil. [12] For we are not fighting against people made of flesh and blood, but against the evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against those mighty powers of darkness who rule this world, and against wicked spirits in the heavenly realms. [13] Use every piece of God's armour to resist the enemy in the time of evil, so that after the battle you will still be standing firm. [14] Stand your ground, putting on the sturdy belt of truth and the body armour of God's righteousness. [15] For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News, so that you will be fully prepared. [16] In every battle you will need faith as your shield to stop the fiery arrows aimed at you by Satan. [17] Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. [18] Pray at all times and on every occasion in the power of the Holy Spirit. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all Christians everywhere.
1 Peter 5:7-9 Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about what happens to you. [8] Be careful! Watch out for attacks from the Devil, your great enemy. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for some victim to devour. [9] Take a firm stand against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your Christian brothers and sisters all over the world are going through the same kind of suffering you are.
Matthew 5:14-16 You are the light of the world—like a city on a mountain, glowing in the night for all to see. [15] Don't hide your light under a basket! Instead, put it on a stand and let it shine for all. [16] In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father. If you feel God is speaking through you with words of encouragement for The Grove then please let them know. |
