1-IN-10 CAMPAIGN
1 in 10 Christians live with persecution
For up to 200 million people being a Christian can mean:
- You live in daily fear of violence, kidnap, rape or even death
- Talking to a non-Christian friend about Jesus can land you in jail
- You live in utter poverty, trapped by a system which limits your opportunities to break free
- You carry a social stigma which affects the jobs you can get, or how your children are treated at school
- The police are not interested in helping you when you are attacked and may even arrest you although you are the victim.
These people are our family. While they are the 1 in 10, we are the other nine. We live in freedoms they are often denied, such as to worship together in public, own a Bible, or even repair the roof of the church building.
The Lord has promised, "I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint." (Jeremiah 31:25)Many Christians living in ongoing situations of discrimination and persecution are weary and faint, worn down by the year-in, year-out struggle to survive and the frustration of the injustices they suffer. Help them to find strength and hope in God by praying for them daily.
WHY? Because we are the ones with the power to make the difference.
